On Tuesday there will be two Ministerial Statements. The first will focus on Social Security and the second on Widening Access to Higher Education. This will be followed by an Equalities and Human Rights Committee debate entitled Hidden Lives New Beginnings: Destitution, asylum and insecure immigration status in Scotland. Next, Members’ Business will be sponsored by Labour MSP Jackie Baillie and will centre on the Vale of Leven Hospital’s GP Out-of-hours Services and the concern that the services will be reduced due to recommendations made by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
On Wednesday Portfolio Questions focus on the Rural Economy and Connectivity, and the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform. This will be followed by a Scottish Government debate on Protecting Worker’s Rights. Members’ Business will be sponsored by SNP MSP Clare Adamson who will draw parliament’s attention to Child Safety Week and this year’s theme of Sharing is Caring.
Thursday’s General Questions will be followed by First Minister’s Questions. Conservative MSP Maurice Corry will then lead Members’ Business by highlighting a report by Combat Stress which found that Veterans in Scotland Face Higher Levels of Deprivation Than Those in Rest of UK. This will be followed by a Stage One debate on the Child Poverty (Scotland) Bill.
